Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal information we collect when you use morganbook.co.uk or buy the book, why we collect it, how long we keep it and what rights you have. We have written it in plain English rather than legal boilerplate.

Who we are

This website is operated by Offstone Publishing, which is the data controller for the information described in this policy. Offstone Publishing is the publisher of Morgan: The March of Progress, written by Charles Neal and produced with the Morgan Sports Car Club.

What we collect and why

We only collect what we need in order to sell you a book, post it to you, answer your questions and keep the site running safely. There are no customer accounts on this site, so you do not have to register to buy.

We do not use your information to make any automated decisions about you, and we do not profile you.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information and we never will. We share it only with the organisations we need in order to run the shop, and only what each of them needs:

• WooPayments, provided by Automattic and using Stripe as the underlying payment processor, to take your payment. We never see or store your full card details. See automattic.com/privacy/ and stripe.com/gb/privacy
• Royal Mail, including the Click & Drop despatch system, to deliver your order. They receive your name and delivery address only.
• Mailchimp, operated by Intuit, to send our newsletter if you have signed up. See mailchimp.com/legal/privacy/
• Google, for website analytics and search performance data. See policies.google.com/privacy
• Meta, for advertising measurement, but only if you have consented to advertising cookies. See http://www.facebook.com/privacy/policy
• Krystal Hosting, who host this website and process technical and server logs on our behalf. See krystal.io/privacy
• The Morgan Sports Car Club, who receive your name, what you bought and what you paid, so that the royalties due to the club can be calculated and checked. They do not receive your address, telephone number or email address. See http://www.morgansportscarclub.com

We may also disclose information where we are legally required to, for example to HMRC or in response to a lawful request from the police.

Sending information outside the UK

Some of the organisations above are based in the United States. Where your information is transferred outside the UK, it is protected either by the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or by the International Data Transfer Agreement approved by the UK government. You can ask us for details of the safeguards that apply.

How long we keep it

An earlier version of this policy said we kept purchase records for twelve months. That was wrong: we are legally required to keep them for longer, and the figure above is correct.

Cookies

Cookies are small files stored on your device. We use four kinds.

• Strictly necessary cookies, which make the basket and checkout work and keep the site secure. These cannot be switched off and do not require your consent.
• Preference cookies, which remember choices such as your cookie settings.
• Analytics cookies, which tell us how many people visit and which pages they read.
• Advertising cookies, currently the Meta pixel, which measure whether our advertising works.

UK rules on cookies changed on 5 February 2026. Some statistical and functional cookies no longer need your consent, provided we tell you clearly what they do and give you a free way to opt out, which the cookie banner does.

Advertising cookies, and any cookie whose data is shared with a third party for advertising, still require your consent. The Meta pixel will not run unless you agree to it.

You can change your cookie choices at any time using the cookie settings link on any page, or by clearing cookies in your browser.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

• Ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
• Ask us to correct anything that is wrong.
• Ask us to delete information, where we are not required to keep it.
• Ask us to restrict how we use it, or object to us using it.
• Ask us to transfer it to another organisation.
• Withdraw your consent at any time, where consent is the basis we rely on.

To exercise any of these, email info@morganbook.co.uk. We will respond within one month. We do not charge for this.

Deleting your order records is the one request we may have to refuse, because we are required to keep them for tax purposes. If that applies we will tell you why and what we will delete instead.

How to complain

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, tell us first at info@morganbook.co.uk. We will acknowledge your complaint within 30 days and deal with it as quickly as we can. This route is required by the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025.

If you are still not satisfied you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office. You do not have to come to us first. The ICO can be reached at ico.org.uk, on 0303 123 1113, or at Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire, SK9 5AF.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we use your information we will update this page and change the date at the top. If the change is significant we will tell subscribers by email.
